Can you believe that we only have approximately 1 month left of Summer? Yep, the first day of Fall is September 22, 2017. I’m not sure if having a baby somehow magically puts you in this fast-forwarded time capsule, but I really don’t know where time has gone these past 10 months. Anywho, I’ve been flipping through the pages of People Style, Vogue, and Elle to get some writing inspo. Let’s talk about some trends that have been observed for this upcoming season.
Red, red, and more red
Yep, red seems to be the color of choice for the season upon us. No, I’m not talking about a dull red, but cherry apple stop sign RED people! This red will be sure to turn some heads!
- FI-NA-LLYYYY! Let us welcome back class into our closets! I am a huge fan of pant suits on any given day. There’s nothing that makes me feel sexier. Whether you prefer a more boxy, loose fit or a tailored one (like myself), this fall’s collection will surely afford you the opportunity to show them off.
Are you a lover of thrifting and finding treasures from previous eras? Well, ‘tis your season to show off your street style. For inspiration, you can reference related hashtags such as #vintagefashion or follow my girl Mimi at @officialcorporatechic. Trust me, she knows her stuff!
Plaids and florals are what’s trending. In the floral department, we are definitely embracing roses. Roses are everywhere whether embroidered onto chic delicate fabrics or on more masculine pieces like distressed denim and leathers.
If you’ve been watching the blogs, award shows, or just keeping up with fashion in general, I’m pretty sure you’ve seen athletic tear-away pants paired with crop tops or bra-lets and heels. I’m totally feeling this trend as it takes me back to the Aaliyah days. Anyone who knows me knows that she was my favorite.
Keep in mind that these are only some of my handpicked choices. I personally tend to prefer classic pieces that will stand the test of time regardless of what styles are trending. I wouldn’t exactly describe my style as being very bold, but I do like to dabble into more eclectic, standout pieces at times.
Are you all feeling any of these trends or do they get two thumbs down? What will your go-to pieces be for Fall 2017?
Remember, regardless of what you choose to wear, you should do so with confidence.
